Ryan and Jessy started Stage Coach Forge with a vision to bring quality cookware that is non-toxic and will last many generations to cooks everywhere. Stage Coach Forge is located in the northern Bitterroot Valley in Stevensville, MT. We are working toward our grand reopening while we build a new forge and farm on a beautiful new 6-acre homestead.
We are tentatively planning to have cookware back in production by March 2026. Please sign up for our newsletter to be first in line for our artisan cookware offerings.

Ryan Sanden, co-founder, father, and master blacksmith, is the visionary behind our cookware designs. He became inspired by blacksmithing after 20+ years of metalworking experience, launching into hand-forged cookware creation in 2020. Since discovering the timeless beauty and functional performance of carbon steel skillets, Ryan has refined his designs to serve the finest food and to cook far and wide. He is passionate about open-fire grilling and often can be found in front of the flames of the grill when not in front of the forge.

Jessy Bird, co-founder, recipe creator, and food photographer, joined forces with her husband Ryan to create Stage Coach Forge. She is the “jill of all trades,” creating recipes, testing cookware, mother, farmer, quality control, website design, and shipping. Jessy is a well-seasoned cook, creating wholesome seasonal recipes from scratch and sharing these recipes with the Stage Coach Forge Cooking Collective. Through her passion for natural living, she has come to believe that carbon steel cookware is the best performing and non-toxic option for feeding her family.
